Kristyn and her daughter, Emersyn, are seriously the cutest. They have this mommy and daughter bond that is so RARE! I just love Kristyn’s spirit – she’s goals! Our initial plans for this shoot was a “fallish” themed session. Well, even though it’s the end of September, it was hot. No, really. It rained the entire morning, but the forecast looked great for the afternoon so we didn’t reschedule. I actually thought the rain would drop the temperatures for our session and it would be perfect! Wishful thinking, right?! You know it’s hot and humid when you step out your car and you already can’t breathe. Kristyn and Emersyn endured the heat, humidity, mosquitos, and mud puddles like CHAMPS! Speaking of “mud puddles”, I’m so happy to announce that we are clear of snake bites and every other critter after we thought the field was a great spot to end our session. I photograph a lot of sessions in this field, and I reassured Kristyn it would be fine, but when I took a step and sank into the water moccasin invested (maybe a little dramatic) puddle I was terrified. TERRIFIED. I think we lasted 5 minutes in there, but you can’t even tell in the images that we were both counting down the seconds. It’s like one of those instances where you worked so hard to get somewhere so there’s no stopping now.
Moral of the story, Kristyn and Emersyn are so fun and easy going. I can’t wait to photograph them again and tackle our next adventures! Oh, and Louisiana – bring on some fall weather!
